Good News Church was planted in the mid-1980s as Gospel Baptist Church through the ministry of Avenue Road Baptist Church and Rev. Ike Amorin. Gospel Baptist Church began as a Portuguese language church, and throughout the years developed into a bilingual church with English and Portuguese services. 

 

Pastor Ike returned to Good News Church in 2010 after having pastored at several other churches in Ontario and officially retired in 2019, just before the COVID-19 pandemic. However, during the pandemic, he came out of retirement to help the church transition during this challenging time. From 2021 to August 2024, pastor Dave Yoon began the journey of rebuilding and revitalizing the English congregation with Pr. Renan Anjos, who joined the pastoral team in 2022 and still continues to lead the church as interim pastor.
