Good News Church was planted in the mid-1980s as Gospel Baptist Church through the ministry of Avenue Road Baptist Church and Rev. Ike Amorin. Gospel Baptist Church began as a Portuguese language church, and throughout the years developed into a bilingual church with English and Portuguese services. 

 

Pastor Ike returned to Good News Church in 2010 after having pastored at several other churches in Ontario and officially retired in 2019, just before the COVID-19 pandemic. However, during the pandemic, he came out of retirement to help the church transition during this challenging time. After much prayer and discernment from the leadership team, they decided it was timely to invite a new pastor and begin the journey of rebuilding and revitalization. After four months of searching, the leadership team invited Dr. Dave Yoon to be their next lead pastor.
